Our mission is to unify physicians and pharmacies in an effort to help inform and protect your business and license to practice medicine. Our approach utilizes a database providing real-time information and alerts while remaining completely HIPAA compliant.

The Problem

According to the Medical Examiner’s report in Florida alone there were 2,488 individuals who died with at least one prescription drug in their system that was identified as the cause of death. This means on average 7 people die in Florida every day due to prescription drugs. Each month doctors are losing their licenses and being convicted of drug diversion. The problem is physicians and pharmacies don’t have a system to weed out the patients who want medications to resale on the street illegally from the patients who will follow the prescription’s instructions.

The Solution

BioScriptRx™ is a database that provides immediate electronic prescription verification from the physician’s office to the pharmacy utilizing a patient fingerprint as the identifiable recognition point. This keeps the patient’s private information off our server while ensuring a means of sharing necessary information between the physician’s office where the prescription originated and the pharmacy where the prescription is dispensed.

In the event a patient is seeing multiple physicians for similar medications BioScriptRx™ will send an alert to all pharmacies and physicians that have written or filled the conflicting prescriptions for that month. The alert will contain the medications and a patient identification number, which will be used to look up the patient in their records. This way all parties are informed and can choose if they want to continue to provide for the patient or if the prescriptions need to be adjusted.
